Competition Descriptions:
Beauty. Contestants wear a Sunday Dress, Formal Dress or Pageant Dress. "Recommended Lengths": 0-4 years may wear a short dress. 5-9 years may wear a short, t-length or long dress. 10-19 will wear a long dress. These are "recommendations". Beading, "glitz", or sparkle is acceptable on dresses but not mandatory.
Winter Wear. This is a Winter Wonderland pageant. Contestants entered in this category will wear a "winter" outfit. Coats, scarves, boots, etc. Outfits with or without fur are acceptable. Sparkle or non-sparkle outfits are acceptable. Outfits can be custom made or off the rack.
Photogenic. Photos must be headshots, taken recently. Photos should be of good quality. Contestants must bring photos with them to the pageant. Photos will be returned to contestants after pageant. All photos submitted will be natural photos. Natural means no "touch ups" or "photoshop" of any kind on the photos. We are looking for a nice, clean headshot that accentuates the beauty of the contestant. Photos of contestant only. No larger than 8 x 10 photos. NO frames please. Black & White, sepia or color headshots preferred. There will be a winner in each age division. Winners will receive a trophy. Label each photo submitted with name of contestant. Judging criteria: Beauty, photogenic appeal, photo clarity and quality, warmth and personality projection.
Talent. Talent entries must be lmited to 3 minutes. Props are allowed as long as they are NOT elaborate. No props that produce smoke, liquid etc. will be allowed. Cartwheels, walkovers, back bends and splits are ok for talent but NO other gymnastics will be allowed due to safety of the contestants. Performances must be age appropriate.
Parade of Contestants. This is NOT a judged competition. However, each contestant WILL participate in the Parade of Contestants at the beginning of the pageant. Each contestant is to wear an outfit of their choosing that best portrays their own unique personality or is a tribute to their favorite hobby or even their favorite famous person. This is the FIRST glimpse of the contestants that the judges get. First impressions do last. NO SWIMSUITS are allowed.
Early Bird. Contestants who get their full paid entry fees into the Miss Winter Wonderland Pageant by the Early Bird entry date will have their name placed into a drawing.
An Early Bird winner will be drawn from the age groups 0-6 and the 7-19 age group. These two winners will receive a crown, trophy and sash.

In Beauty and Winter Wear, contestants will be judged and scored in the following areas: 1-10 for first impression, 1-10 for beauty, 1-10 for personality, 1-10 for stage presence, 1-10 in overall appearance. Talent will be scored 1-10 for first impression, 1-10 for personaltiy, 1-10 for skill & creativity, 1-10 for stage presence, 1-10 for overall performance and appearance. Photogenic will be selected by a professional photographer.
